Events
The ASA routinely organises seminars and consultation events to raise awareness of the way advertising is controlled and to gauge stakeholder views on the application of the ad rules.
Public events
We hold public consultation seminars on key issues such as alcohol advertising, environmental claims and violence in ads. There are currently no dates for public events. For reports from old events, go to our Reports and surveys sections.
Industry events
We work closely with the Committee of Advertising Practice, the body that writes the Advertising Codes, in training marketers and advertising practitioners to ensure they know and follow the rules. You can view the comprehensive calendar of training seminars for advertising professionals on the CAP website.
The ASA also invests time in bespoke seminars for those companies wishing to improve their understanding of our processes, the requirements of the Codes and how we apply those rules. We can bring together executives from every part of our organisation and tailor the seminar to the specific needs of the company in question. This can be quite resource intensive but we welcome the initiative of businesses that are keen to improve their compliance and train their staff through a dedicated session. For information on how we can help your company, please contact events@asa.org.uk.
Student events
We hold seminars for students several times a year as part of our on-going engagement with schools, colleges and education specialists. If your school is interested to find out more about the ASA’s work and how advertising is controlled in the UK, please contact events@asa.org.uk for further information.
