Advertising that appears in or around on-demand services (such as video on-demand) is subject to rules in the Non-broadcast Advertising Code. It is our role to ensure ads appearing in this space don’t mislead, harm or offend.

On top of that, we also regulate particular ads in on-demand services as required by the Audio-Visual Media Services Directive. Responsibility for regulating these requirements was designated to us in 2010 by our co-regulatory partner, Ofcom.

Following a review of our regulation, Ofcom has announced today that it will continue to designate this regulatory responsibility to us.
