International Direct Marketing Fair 2004

CAP and the ASA exhibited at the International Direct Marketing Fair at Earls Court 2 from 2 - 4 March 2004. Staff were on hand to guide direct marketers through the rules when marketing by e-mail and SMS text message. Edition 11 of the CAP Code includes a new clause that requires marketers to gain the explicit consent of consumers before marketing by these methods. The clause reflects the requirements of the Privacy in E-Communications Regulations that came into force on 11 December 2003. For more information on the exhibition please visit
