Review of CAP Events in 2005
09 December 2005
The ASA and CAP Executive's events organisers welcome delegates to one of the many events held in 2005
Now advertising self-regulation has extended to broadcast as well as non-broadcast ads, we have been busy in 2005 making sure everyone across the industry is kept up to date with the latest information, rules and ASA decisions. As well as attending outside events, we were overwhelmed by the positive response to our new programme of breakfast training seminars called Advice:am. Designed to fit into the busy marketing professional’s working day, those early morning sessions have covered topics such as the rules for sales promotions, the new alcohol advertising clauses and magazine health and beauty ads.
Targeting your marketing: International Direct Marketing Fair
CAP staff were on hand at the International Direct Marketing Fair in February to offer advice and guidance to direct marketers on how to ensure their campaigns, both electronic and paper-based, comply with the CAP Code. We shall be there again next year, so remember to visit our stand
Advice:am an essential guide to the rules and regulations for sales promotions
In May, CAP ran the first of its free Advice:am master classes. The inaugural seminar, held in conjunction with the Institute of Sales Promotion (ISP), focussed on the rules for sales promotions. The seminar was heavily oversubscribed so we repeated it in July.
Advice:am get the full measure: foolproof advice on the new rules for alcohol advertising
This morning master class in October covered the new rules and guidance for alcohol advertisements. Open to anyone involved in the marketing or advertising of alcohol, we covered the changes to the CAP Code and the BCAP TV Code. Click here for a full report on the event
Advice:am CAP Copy Advice clinic for magazine health and beauty ads
Held in conjunction with the Periodical Publishers Association (PPA), this session was also held in October and looked at the rules and regulations about the content of magazine advertisements, with a special focus on the health and beauty sector. Click here for a full report on the seminar.
