As the hot weather continues to soar, many of us are opting for a "staycation" this summer - and why not when we have Mediterranean sun on our doorstep step!

‘Cheaper (you’d think so), shorter travel times (not with Sunday drivers), stress- free (allegedly), no flight delays (but stuck in traffic on the M11),’- it’s easy to list the perks of a staycation over a holiday abroad, and many companies are taking advantage of this by promoting their best UK breaks.

But holidaying at home shouldn’t mean you have to lower your expectations. If you’re booking a B&B you want to be confident that it’s only 5 mins from the sea if that’s what’s been advertised, and similarly, if the train company you’re looking to buy tickets from advertises a summer deal – return tickets for £15 - then you should be able to take advantage of that offer.

When you’re spending your hard earned money on a relaxing break the last thing you want is to be left disappointed, or worse still, feel as though you’ve been mis-sold an offer. Hopefully that won’t happen, but it’s worth taking this opportunity to refresh yourselves with our easy to digest Holidays and Travel Hot Topic, for clear information on the rules in place around holiday advertising, and what you can do if you think you’ve been misled.

Whether you’re heading to your nearest seaside town, or camping outdoors, we hope you’re making the most of it. Here’s to a summer of making sandcastles rather than a bucket (and spade) load of a complaints.
