Misleading Advertising: breaks the UK advertising rules by omitting its geographical address, material information under the Code, from its UK website

Rules 3.4 and 3.4.2 of the CAP Code state that the geographical address of a marketer constitutes material information for marketing communications that quote prices for advertised products.  Under rule 3.3, marketing communications must not mislead consumers by omitting material information.

The CAP Compliance team contacted Stacees to seek compliance with the Code and asked the advertiser to include the company’s geographical address on its website

Because Stacees did not respond to our enquiries, and has not amended its website to comply with the Code, the CAP Compliance team took the decision on 14 June 2018 to place the company’s details and non-compliance on this section of the ASA website.  These details shall remain in place until such time as Stacees appropriately amend to ensure compliance with the CAP Code.
