What this report covers
This report examines the impact of enforcement against the irresponsible advertising of Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) home testing kits and prostate supplements on Meta and Google between February and July 2026. It highlights that, while the compliance rate is poor, there has been an encouraging reduction in the overall number of prostate supplement ads after these actions. It also notes an increase in compliance rates for PSA home testing ads.
Key findings
- Using our AI-based Active Ad Monitoring system, we captured 2.73k unique ads for prostate supplements and PSA home testing kits from the advertisers we contacted between February and July 2026.
- Of these, 2.58k ads were flagged for containing potentially non-compliant claims.
- The main issues were prostate supplement ads claiming to prevent, treat or cure prostate-related health issues, and PSA home testing kit ads misleadingly implying that the tests could diagnose cancer without making their limitations clear.
- Compliance for prostate supplement ads remained extremely low, at 0.5% in February and 0.6% in July. However, the number of ads from contacted advertisers fell from a peak of 835 in April to 180 in July.
- Compliance for PSA home testing kit ads increased from 20.0% in February to 64.5% in July.
