Coronavirus & COVID-19
Think very carefully before you make any direct or implied claims about coronavirus or COVID-19 in your advertising – all ads must be prepared with a sense of responsibility to consumers and to society. See here for our related resources.
The CAP and BCAP Codes include many rules which seek to reflect significant pieces of EU law or UK law that has been made to implement EU law. As far as CAP is aware, the same rules and laws will apply on the day after exit as on the day before.
What the rules cover
The CAP Code does not define advertising - it lists categories of communication to which it applies and offers supplementary definitions and exclusions. See here for some indicative advice on the many types of non-broadcast marketing communications that are, and are not, subject to the Code.
Around 70% of the cases considered by the ASA each year relate to potentially misleading advertising. See here for advice on Section 3 of the CAP Code.
Influencer Marketing Resources
