This Enforcement Notice is published jointly with the Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). It outlines the ban on advertising prescription-only medicines (POMs) to the public, with specific reference to POMs used for weight management.
No POM may be advertised to the public. The notice sets out the enforcement actions that the respective regulators may take against advertisers and businesses that do not bring their advertising into compliance.
