Marketers in the health, beauty and slimming sector often want to include references to specific medical conditions to help illustrate who or what may benefit from the advice, treatment or service they offer.  Rule 12.2 of the CAP Code requires that some medical conditions should only be referenced in ads if the advice, diagnosis, or treatment of that condition is to be carried out under the supervision of a suitably qualified health professional. This guidance provides a non-exhaustive list of medical conditions for which medical advice from a suitably qualified person should be sought, followed by conditions which could legitimately be referenced without triggering such a requirement.
